Cecily in tutu, ballet slippers, and ribbons, with parasol. This costume, made by my talented mother, Shelley, was the tiniest tutu I have ever seen (for a real girl, not a doll.) It was white fabric with sky colored blue sequined trim. The last time I held it was about ten years ago when my mother sold the house I grew up in "Raymond Farms" in North Beverly, Massachusetts. Sadly, it was lost to me during that move.
Cecily Basking in the Gaze of The Adoring Bobby

Cecily sitting at his feet, and basking in the gaze of the adoring Bobby. Bobby was a great friend. He was intentionally directing the spotlight to me in this posed photo. Like Nureyev. Bobby could command anyone's attention with his physical, mental, and theatrical powers. Observers only stopped watching him before anything or anyone else when HE WANTED it to happen, not visa versa. Some people have amazing charisma - Both Robert Blankshine and Rudolf Nureyev, with a small, select elite group, were the creme de la creme of the dance world in their day.

Actually, the photo is by Saeger. All material related to this program belongs to the proper copyright holders.Eva Evdokimova in Deutsche Oper Program in Berlin. Of course, this is not me. Webmaster Chic will move this when he figures out where it should be. Eva, who was well on her way to establishing herself as Prima Ballerina Absoluta, was a major influence on my personal approach to dancing when I worked with her in Berlin. I strive to pass on the essence of my learning to my students. She was (and I am confident, remains) exquisite in every way, an extraordinary human being with whom I feel privileged to have danced on the same stage. Absolutely not to be missed, neglected or forgotten! Eva, you are wonderful. Thank you.
Cecily- Last Female Fritz in Boston Ballet's Nutcracker

Cecily as the Last Female Fritz in Boston Ballet's Nutcracker. This was Cecily's very first Nutcracker ever! At that time, Fritz and Clara opened the entire production in front of a Scrim that depicted the locked door into the the large room where the Party was about to be held. We spied in excitement through the keyhole as the audience enjoyed the "overture miniature" conducted energetically by the late, great Arthur Fiedller of the Boston Pops.
The next year, Virginia had a real boy to play Fritz. His name? Kipling Houston. He went on to become a Principal Dancer with The New York City Ballet! Wow!
