Webmaster Chic will move this when he figures out where it should be. Eva, who was well on her way to establishing herself as Prima Ballerina Absoluta, was a major influence on my personal approach to dancing when I worked with her in Berlin. I strive to pass on the essence of my learning to my students. She was (and I am confident, remains) exquisite in every way, an extraordinary human being with whom I feel privileged to have danced on the same stage. Absolutely not to be missed, neglected or forgotten! Eva, you are wonderful. Thank you.
I have been privileged to see what all dance historians agree would rank among the best - ever. Eva Evdokimova, floating surreally across the stage and never seeming to touch the ground, Erik Bruhn and Carla Fracci - dancing as if they were made for each other. Violette Verdy. Margot Fonteyn. The dashing, Ivan Nagy. And many more supremely talented dancers. Amongst all those wonderful portrayals of Giselle, Eva is the best . She simply floated, and her feet never seemed to touch the physical stage.
Note the ads in German. I wish I had bought that piano.
